A side table that explores structure through materiality. This was a heavily expirimental project in which many materials were tested using a rectangular frame of welded steel. Once the lowdensity polyethalene had been chosen, its application was a careful balance of maintaining order but allowing for the material to express its unique qualities. The material was applied until it would bend and deform within the hollow frame under intentional applied pressure, but maintain a flat surface under the light pressures of regular use.
